Summary of police activity:
CANFIELD
Aug. 26
Theft: Two men and a woman were seen leaving Giant Eagle, 525 E. Main St., in a 1989 brown Chevrolet Celebrity after allegedly taking meat and cigarettes from the store.
Drug abuse: Police arrested a 21-year-old North Jackson man at First Place Bank's drive-up after a traffic stop and charged him with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Police reportedly found a bag of suspected marijuana and a brown wooden pipe containing marijuana residue in it inside his vehicle. He was released on his own recognizance, and his vehicle was impounded. Police also charged him with driving under the influence of alcohol.
Aug. 28
Theft: The coin box for The Plain Dealer was reported stolen from Perkins Restaurant, 587 E. Main St.
Aug. 29
Warrant: Two officers from the Mahoning County Drug Task Force's pharmaceutical division and Canfield police arrested a 29-year-old Canfield man at his Neff Drive home on a drug count warrant from the county sheriff's department. The man was taken by ambulance to St. Elizabeth Health Center with breathing problems.

Aug. 26
Criminal damaging: A vehicle mirror was damaged at The Mill, 1743 S. Raccoon Road.
Theft: Two males allegedly walked out without paying a bill at Denny's, 4927 Mahoning Ave.
Theft: Money and keys were stolen from Wash Me Car Wash, 1105 N. Canfield-Niles Road.
Theft: A boys bicycle was reported stolen from a home in the 4000 block of Burkey Road.
Theft: A radar detector and digital camera were stolen from a vehicle parked at a home in the 1000 block of Maplecrest Drive.
Breaking and entering: Items were reported stolen from Camp Field, 600 N. Raccoon Road.
Burglary: A 12-pack of beer was stolen from a garage in the residential 1000 block of Woodgate Street.
Aug. 27
Breaking and entering: Two men were scared off by the alarm and nothing was taken during an attempted break-in at Do It Super Spray Car Wash, 1432 S. Raccoon Road.
Burglary: A break-in was reported in the 100 block of S. Main Street, but nothing was taken.
Assault: A woman accused another woman of assault in the 60 block of North Canfield-Niles Road.
Criminal damaging: A window was broken out of a home in the 3000 block of Meanderwood Drive.
Theft: An AM-FM compact disc player was stolen from a vehicle parked in the residential 5000 block of Dunbar Avenue.
Aug. 28
Theft: Unspecified items were stolen from a home in the 5000 block of Colgate Place.
Theft: A wooden sign was stolen from a front yard in the residential 3000 block of South Turner Road.
Theft: An AM-FM cassette player was reported stolen from a vehicle parked at Key Auto Brokers, 220 S. Meridian Road.
Theft: A yard sign was stolen from the residential 5000 block of Colgate Drive.
Theft: A cellular phone was stolen from the Mahoning County Health Department, 50 Westchester Drive.
Criminal damaging: A vehicle's finish was scratched in the residential 100 block of South Roanoke Avenue.
Theft: Police arrested a man in the theft of $89.85 worth of batteries at Kmart, 4475 Mahoning Ave.
Theft: Lawn ornaments were reported stolen from the residential 200 block of Westminster Avenue.
Theft: A sign was stolen from a yard in the residential 5000 block of Cider Mill Crossing.
Burglary: A 30-pack of beer and a 12-pack of soda were stolen from a garage in the 6000 block of Berry Blossom Drive.
Theft: Police arrested a woman in the theft of $220 worth of luggage at J.C. Penney Co., 6090 Mahoning Ave.
Criminal damage: A windshield was broken on a vehicle in the residential 200 block of Westminster Avenue.
Aug. 29
Theft: Two cartons of cigarettes were stolen from the BP station at 3602 Mahoning Ave.
Arson: A vehicle was reported damaged in the 600 block of Notre Dame Drive.
Attempted arson: An attempt was made to burn a vehicle in the residential 5000 block of Sterling Street.
Theft: Two assembled wooden decks were stolen from Carter Lumber, 3710 Mahoning Ave.
Criminal damaging: A spotlight was damaged in the residential 5000 block of Willowcrest Drive.
Aug. 30
Arrested: Police arrested a 54-year-old man over an attempt to pry open the safe at the Dollar Store, 6000 Mahoning Ave.
Abduction: A 17-year-old female was abducted by an unidentified man from an apartment in the 4000 block of Westchester Drive.
Criminal damaging: A lawn lamp was damaged in the residential 4000 block of Plumbrook Drive.
Criminal damaging: A windshield was broken on a vehicle in the 500 block of Notre Dame Drive.
Criminal damage: Two juveniles are accused of shooting at a house with a BB gun in the residential 100 block of Aldrich Avenue.
Impersonating an officer: A man formerly with the Maryland State Police was reportedly impersonating an officer at Giant Eagle, 5220 Mahoning Ave.
Theft: A compact disc player was stolen from Kmart, 4475 Mahoning Ave.
Criminal damage: Lawn damage was reported in the 1000 block of Fox Chase.
Theft: Four plastic squirrels were stolen from the 30 block of South Roanoke Ave.
Theft: A memory upgrade board was reported stolen from an apartment in the 400 block of Wilcox Street.
Theft: Sixteen feet of fence was reported stolen from the 1000 block of Bexley Drive.
Theft: A Honda 11-horsepower pressure washer was stolen from Kmart.
Aug. 31
Attempted arson: A vehicle was damaged and an attempt made to burn it at Westview Center, 5204 Mahoning Ave.
Criminal damage: A vehicle window was broken in the residential 2000 block of Breezewood.
Attempted auto theft: The steering column was peeled back on a vehicle in the 20 block of Lexington Place.
Forgery: A man cashed a fraudulent payroll check at Austintown Pawn, 3700 Mahoning Ave.
Theft: Tools were taken from a fenced-in area from within the building at Radco, 3805 Henricks Road.
Sept. 1
Theft: A rearview mirror was stolen from a vehicle in the 100 block of South Edgehill Avenue.
Burglary: Two male juveniles were placed in Mahoning County Juvenile Justice Center on charges in a burglary in the 4000 block of Barrington Court.
Theft: Miscellaneous items were stolen from a vehicle parked at Wal-Mart, 6000 Mahoning Ave.
Theft: Two cases of beer were taken from TrueNorth, 3670 S. Meridian Road.
