Place paces Badger with three goals in girls prep soccer



KINSMAN -- Jenn Place scored three goals, the deciding one with 3:15 remaining, as Badger High turned back Chardon 5-4 in a non-league girls soccer game Wednesday.
Julie Bresnhan and Tessa Bonar each scored a goal for the Braves (3-1). Goalie Liz Smith had 18 saves.
Sarah Parrish led Chardon (1-2) with two goals and two assists. Jessica Lacava and Laura Burke added a goal apiece.
Hubbard 12, Newton Falls 0: HUBBARD -- Jamie Duvall scored four goals for the Eagles (2-1-1). Mary Newberry, Anna DeJulio and Lisa Jugenheimer added two apiece, while Adrienne Wolf and Brittany McKee each had one.
Duvall had two assists, while Jamie Rigney, Abbey Thompson, Laura Bayuk and Sarah Crafton each had one.
Racheal Brazin and Jo Jo Gumino, goalies for Newton Falls, had eight and 11 saves, respectively.
Boys: LORDSTOWN -- Ken Wagenhouser scored five goals and assisted on four others scored by Chris Cook as Crestview (3-2) defeated Lordstown 9-2.
Jason Darocha scored twice for Lordstown (2-3), which trailed 4-1 at the half.
