YOUNGSTOWN -- Mr. and Mrs. Simon Sikora of 1046 Old Furnace Road were the guests of honor at a dinner party Aug. 4 at Tippecanoe Country Club in Canfield on the occasion of their golden wedding anniversary.
Hosts for the event were the couple's son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Mary Jo Sikora of Poland. The couple also have another son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Janyce Sikora of Boardman, and four grandchildren.
Mr. Sikora, who is also known as "Sam," and the former Dorothy Strauch were married Aug. 4, 1951, at Holy Name Church, where they are members. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and retired in 1991 from the sales department of the Schwebel Baking Co. His wife retired in 1991 from Ohio Bell Telephone Co., where she was a supervisor. She is a member of Telephone Pioneers of America. They are franchisees of Taco Bell.
