Tour guides will spin true tales about the city's past.
WARREN -- The spirits of Warren come alive this month when the Fine Arts Council of Trumbull County presents its annual Ghost Walk.
The dates for the guided tours are Friday, Saturday and Oct. 26 and 27. Times are 6:30 to 9 p.m., with tours leaving every 10 minutes.
Tours begin at First Presbyterian Church, 256 Mahoning Ave. downtown. They make other stops around town, including city hall.
Ghost Walk is an autumn tradition around Halloween. Organizers weave ghost stories throughout the one-hour walk up and down Mahoning Avenue.
The city's historical district along Mahoning Avenue is lined with mansions and other landmarks dating back to the 1800s.
Spooky stories: Costumed actors will dramatize real-life stories of local murders and unexplained happenings.
Organizers say the stories come from newspaper archives and from talking to local historians. They have said they try to change the stories each year to keep the presentation original.
Other cities, including Medina and Rochester, N.Y., have modeled programs after Warren's Ghost Walk.
Ticket costs: Adult tickets are $6 the day of the event and $4 in advance. The cost for children under 16 is $3 the day of the event and $2 in advance.
Tickets are being sold at the Hippodrome, 150 High St.; Ianazone's Pizza, 8048 E. Market St., Howland; and B & amp;K Farm Market, 2396 Elm Road, Cortland.
For this Friday only, participants can present their Warren-Trumbull County Public Library card at the door to pay advance ticket prices.
