LAURA MURPHYMICHAEL SMITH
POLAND -- Exchanging vows before Monsignor William Connell during a ceremony Sept. 1 at Holy Family Church were Laura Anne Murphy and Michael J. Smith, both of 122 Berkshire St., Cambridge, Mass.
The bride is a daughter of Alec and Anne Murphy, 7762 Indian Trail. Parents of the groom are Jean M. Smith, 488 Catherine St., and Edgar J. Smith, 111 Mill Run, both Youngstown.
Rhinestones embellished the bodice of the bride's ivory satin A-line gown, and she wore a fingertip veil.
Honor attendants were Theresa Wilkinson and Tamara Kreutzer. Bridesmaids were Allison Smith, the groom's sister; Marianne Smith, his sister-in-law; Anne Murphy, the bride's sister-in-law; Lisa Khoury; and Monica Hluch. They wore stone-colored dresses.
The groom's brother, Edgar Smith II, was best man. Groomsmen were David and Stephen Murphy, the bride's brothers; and Brian Hodous, Alejandro Galioto, Jason Radigan and David Ries. John Crawley also participated.
A reception was held at St.. Mary Banquet Hall, Boardman, before the couple left on a honeymoon to Las Vegas and San Francisco.
A registered nurse at New England Medical Center, Boston, the bride graduated from Kent State University College of Nursing with a bachelor's degree in nursing.
The groom is a senior associate scientist with the WYETH Genetics Institute, Cambridge. He earned a bachelor's degree in chemistry at KSU and a master's at Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
