YOUNGSTOWN -- Members of the Mahoning Valley Drug Task Force and Youngstown vice squad raided a house at 422 Glenwood Ave. Thursday afternoon and seized about 10 ounces of powdered cocaine, drug paraphernalia, $17,000 and two handguns, said Lt. William Powell, vice squad commander.
Vernon Scott, 38, of that address, was charged with possession of drugs, and police were advised of a federal pick-up order on him on charges of drug trafficking, Powell said.
A resident of the home, Otis Woods, 70, was not arrested at the scene because of his health, Powell said, noting Woods said he uses a walker. The case will be presented to a federal prosecutor because of Woods' prior drug and weapons convictions, Powell said.
