Society planning a tour of homes

Seven homes and the new library will be featured on the tour.
POLAND -- The Poland Township Historical Society will hold its annual Christmas Tour of Homes from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Dec. 4 and 5.
Seven homes decorated for the holidays by their owners and area floral shops are on the tour this year along with the newly opened Poland Public Library.
Tickets are $10 and may be purchased at Wittenauer Pharmacy & amp; Gift Shop or by mailing a self-addressed stamped envelope with a check for the number of tickets desired to Christmas Tour of Homes, 4034 Arrel Road, Poland, Ohio 44514. For further information call (330) 757-1943 or (330) 536-8867.
Proceeds will be used to maintain the Little Red Schoolhouse.
The following homes will be featured on the tour:
U303 S. Main St.: The home of Merle and Bette Madrid is a century home built in 1880 and originally constructed as a stagecoach stop between Pittsburgh and Cleveland. It has been in Mrs. Madrid's family for several generations.
U37 Water St.: Built in 1919, the home of Nevin and Diane Seifert features a stone and wooden exterior and parquet floors.
U3785 Hunters Hill: The residence of Dr. Frank and Madilyn Melidona is a two-story Italian contemporary home that features touches of formal and casual decor throughout.
U49 Poland Manor: The home of Dr. Carlyn Bay was built in 1929 in the fashion of a quaint English Tudor cottage. Original zinc windows are featured throughout.
U63 Poland Manor: The residence of Jene and Rosalie Maloney is a 1915 English Tudor home that features hardwood floors and Oriental rugs along with 18th Century furniture.
U2227 Hamilton Ave.: Dan and Melissa Kellgren live in this cozy brick Cape Cod built in 1950. The Victorian-style living room features an antique mantel from a house in southern Ohio.
U7820 Youngstown-Pittsburgh Road: The home of Ron and Lois Mullins, this Georgian Colonial home was built in 1987 and features southern-style decor and antique leaded glass French doors.
