Garden Forum holds holiday craft, flower show
YOUNGSTOWN -- Blue ribbons were awarded in the holiday craft and flower show held Nov. 14 by the Garden Forum at the D.D. and Velma Davis Education and Visitor Center at Fellows Riverside Gardens in Mill Creek Park.
Winners: Artistic design ribbons went to Pearl Marlos, Silver Leaf; Regina Webb, Salem; and Elsie DeHoff, Austintown. The gold seal in design went to Ms. Marlos.
Blue-ribbon winners in horticulture were Dorothy Haddox, Our Lady of Fatima; Ms. Marlos, Silver Leaf; Sheila Bowman, Salem; Martha Murphy, St. Edward; Stephanie Sheely, Lowellville; Betsy Myers, Gleaners; Jean Davidson, Sweetbriar; and Irene Cormell and Wanda Hughes, both of Austintown. Ms. Hughes also won Best of Show in this category.
Blue ribbons in crafts were awarded to Ms. Marlos, Silver Leaf; Ms. Sheely, Lowellville; and Norma McMahon and Ellen Caralini, both of Austintown. The gold seal for crafts was given to Ms. Sheely, Lowellville.
Judges were Evelyn Resek, June Johnston, Ms. Davidson, Ms. Myers, Ms. Marlos and Margaret Mary Walsh.
Ms. Haddox was chairwoman.
