Cancer Society offers
WARREN -- Area women receiving cancer treatment are invited to the American Cancer Society's Look Good Feel Better program from 6 to 8 p.m. Nov. 26, at St. Joseph Cancer Care Center, 667 Eastland Ave. S.E. Also, the American Cancer Society has many free supplies and items for cancer patients and their families in Mahoning, Trumbull and Columbiana counties. Free items, some of which would cost hundreds of dollars, include wigs, adult diapers, bras, prostheses, disposable bed pads and Nestle's Pro Balance Nutritional Supplement. Diabetes awareness

Immunization clinic
GIRARD -- A well-child immunization clinic, free to Girard children, is at 1:30 p.m. Nov. 29, at the Girard Health Department, 100 W. Main St. Parents are reminded to bring a copy of the child's immunization record; a parent or guardian must accompany children under 18. Parents must pre-register their children by calling (330) 545-6048.
Speech, hearing clinic
LISBON -- The Columbiana County Health Department is offering a free speech and hearing clinic for children from birth to age 21 on Nov. 27, and a free pediatric vision clinic Nov. 28, both at the health department, 7360 state Route 45.
The speech and hearing clinic will be staffed by an otolaryngologist, audiologists and speech therapists; and the vision clinic by an optometrist and ophthalmologist.
Children may be referred to the clinics by a doctor, nurse, teacher, parent, grandparent, school nurse, public health nurse and other health professionals. Call (330) 424-0272 for an appointment.
Mammovan schedule
YOUNGSTOWN -- The ENCOREplus Program at the Youngstown YWCA, 25 W. Rayen Ave., is offering the Mammovan from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Phelps Street parking lot. ENCOREplus provides breast cancer screenings and helps refer Mahoning County area women to low- or no-cost mammograms. Financial assistance is available to those who qualify. Quilt show at hospital
WARREN -- The Healing Gardens Quilt Show will be on display in the Nissen Art Gallery at Forum Health Trumbull Memorial Hospital through the end of the year. The exhibit is a collection of 27 quilts created by northern Virginia area quilters that provide textile interpretations of botanical herbs now in use to treat cancer or be studied by scientists in clinical trials. Dr. Walter E. Parham, a botanical research specialist whose wife died of cancer, proposed the idea of merging his wife's interest in quilting with his botanical research.
Car seat checks
