Where: Canton Central Catholic Stadium.
Playoff history: South Range (12-0) is in its sixth playoff appearance since 1992. The Raiders (4-5 all-time) have qualified three years in a row and five out of the last six. Last year the Raiders were 7-2 during the year but lost their first playoff game to Massillon Tuslaw. They were 8-2 the year before and 1-1 in the playoffs that time.

South Range scouting report: The Raiders controlled the ball in last week's win over Warren Kennedy. They have adjusted to the loss of FB Jeff Johnston to injury. Brad Johnson ran for 204 yards on 27 carries and two touchdowns. Brian Novak added 65 yards on 17 carries. With QB Jim Sanders producing 100 yards through the air, South Range totaled 418 yards of offense and held Kennedy to 165. "We knew if things went our way we could be 10-0 and we could get into the playoffs," coach Dan Yeagley said. "Our expectations were high. There's only eight teams left. You can't afford to make any mistakes. You have to play almost a perfect game to be successful." Yeagley has a seven-year record of 57-15, including 4-4 in the postseason.
Bedford Chanel scouting report: To stop the Firebirds, a team must contend with All-State RB Anthony Franklin (5-foot-11, 185-pounds, 4.4 speed). A University of Virginia recruit, Franklin has run for more than 2,500 yards and scored 33 touchdowns this year, including a 91-yard touchdown last week against Wellington. He missed the second half of the game with a slight injury. Chanel senior QB Kyle Moriarity threw for 236 yards and four touchdowns in the 35-0 win over Wellington. Moriarity is 27-2 as a starter in his career. One of his favorite targets is senior WO Jason Perry, who caught two touchdown aerials against Wellington. Two top defenders for Chanel are senior DE Evan Shaw (6-2, 250, 4.8) and senior LB Kyle Hoogenboom (6-2, 190, 4.55). The top OL is Jamel Lee (6-3, 290, 4.9), and DT Pat Walker (6-4, 270, 5.0) is a good one. The Firebirds were ranked No. 1 in the final Associated Press Division V state poll and were the state runner-up last year and a state semifinalist in 1999. This is the third consecutive regional final appearance by the Firebirds, who are 9-2 overall in the playoffs. Chanel is coached by Bill Powers.
