YWCA offers varietyof classes, lecture
WARREN -- The YWCA, 375 N. Park Ave., is offering a host of classes this month.
A free scuba diving lesson is set from 7:30 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, offered to all members and their guests. Children must be at least 10.
Also Tuesday, a class for the public on personal image profiles will be offered from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Cost is $25.
Kelly Boggia, a licensed cosmetologist with 15 years of experience as a makeup artist, will give tips and do makeup, a color analysis and construct a personal clothing image for each person.
A free public lecture on childhood asthma will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, sponsored by the pediatric/adolescent asthma center of Forum Health.
The YWCA will take prepaid orders for poinsettias of various colors through Nov. 24. Cost ranges from $4 to $25 and orders can be picked up from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Dec. 3-7.

Road widening
HARTFORD -- Township trustees will conduct a special meeting at 10 a.m. Saturday to open bids for the Drake-Stateline Road widening project.
Man found deadon South Side street
YOUNGSTOWN -- A man with a gunshot wound to the head was found dead by police on routine patrol about 1 a.m. today.
The unidentified victim was found lying in the roadway at Mercer and Hoffman streets on the South Side.
No further information was immediately available this morning.
The homicide is the city's 27th this year. At this time last year, the city had recorded 25 homicides.
Retired greyhounds
EAST PALESTINE -- A program on adopting retired racing greyhounds will be at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at the East Palestine Memorial Public Library, 309 N. Market St.

Anderson is namedToys on Tour station
GREENVILLE, Pa. -- Anderson Coach & amp; Travel, 1 Anderson Plaza, will again serve as a collection station for Toys on Tour, the National Tour Association's partnership with the Toys for Tots Foundation, a Marine Corps Reserve project.
Collections began today and end Dec. 12.
The company is encouraging its customers and others to donate a brand new toy or cash to the program.
Anyone donating a toy will be entered in two drawings for a $30 gift certificate.
Railroad funds freed
SALEM -- A federal panel is freeing about $375,000 from the Columbiana County Port Authority's January purchase of the former Youngstown & amp; Southern Railway.
The money was part of the $1.1 million purchase price and would have gone to the railroad's former owner, Railroad Ventures Inc. of Boardman.
The federal Surface Transportation Board ordered the $375,000 set aside to make repairs on the recently reopened line, which stretches from Darlington, Pa., to Youngstown, passing through Columbiana County.
RVI contested the set-aside before the board, but was overruled last week.
