SHORT TERM OPPORTUNITIES
First Night Youngstown (Dec. 31): Volunteers are needed to assist with various activities including transportation, check-in and food sales.

American Red Cross (Blood services): People needed to assist with registration and serving refreshments to donors. Some standing and moving required.Camp Fire Council: Board members needed. People also needed as instructors for nature, health and academic programs.The Concern: A thrift shop that serves residents of Sebring and surrounding communities need help with donations, food distribution and general tasks. The shop is open from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.Eagle Heights Academy: Tutors needed for children in kindergarten through ninth grades. Flexible times between 8:15 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. A school-year commitment is requested.Hope House: People needed in a variety of areas to assist in a child-friendly environment for supervised visitation. Tasks may include child care, clerical support, and cleaning rooms.Marian Living Center: People needed to call bingo, play bridge, paint nails, assist in the gift shop and with parties for senior citizens.Neighborhood Ministries: Volunteers needed to assist with after-school programs for children in kindergarten through sixth grade.Forum Health Northside Medical Center: Volunteers needed to help staff the facility's gift shop, staff its desk in the family waiting room, and help connect families and doctors who need to speak with each other during or after patient surgeries.Parent Center Toy Library: People needed in these areas: baby-sitting, toy library operations, monthly lunch hour food preparation, toy organization, and toy cleaning on Mondays.Stadium Drive School: Volunteers needed to assist children with reading activities as part of the state's OhioReads program. Structured curriculum. Training provided. Flexible schedule from 2:15 to 2:45 p.m. Monday through Friday.Volunteer Service to Seniors: People needed for home visits, telephone reassurance, friendship and transportation for the homebound elderly.
