Dattilo earns law degree
Brian G. Dattilo, son of Diane J. Dattilo, Boardman, and Gerald J. Dattilo, Austintown, has earned his juris doctorate degree, cum laude, from the Thomas M. Cooley Law School, Lansing, Mich.
Dattilo is a 1993 graduate of Boardman High School. He earned his bachelor's degree in psychology in 1998 from Youngstown State University. While in law school, he was on the honor roll and participated on the school's moot court. He is working at the Cuyahoga County Prosecutor's Office in Cleveland.
DOCTORS
Ortenzio to performdentistry residency
Rebecca M. Ortenzio, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Joseph A. Ortenzio Jr., of New Middletown, has received her degree of doctor of dental surgery degree from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, Mich.
Ortenzio, a Navy lieutenant, will do her advanced education in general dentistry residency at the U.S. Naval Station, San Diego, and will serve in the Navy for four years. She is a graduate of Springfield Local High School and Youngstown State University.
Nagy earns degreein podiatric medecine
Brian A. Nagy, formerly of Boardman, earned his doctor of podiatric medicine degree from The Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine, Cleveland, this month.
Dr. Nagy, a 1992 Boardman High School graduate, earned a degree in combined science from Youngstown State University in 1997. He has accepted a two-year residency at Presbyterian Medical Center, Philadelphia.
He is a son of Michael and Nancy Nagy of Boardman and is married to the former Erin Elliott of Boardman. The Nagys lives in Middleburgh Heights, Ohio.
Ringer to internat Cincinnati hospital
Geoff Ringer of Poland has earned his doctor of medicine degree from Eastern Virginia Medical School, Norfolk, Va. His internship will be at Good Samaritan Hospital, and his residency in anesthesiology will be at University Hospital, both in Cincinnati.
A 1985 graduate of Poland Seminary High School, he received his undergraduate degree in mechanical engineering from Carnegie Mellon University in 1989. After completing his master's degree at Kansas State University, he received his Ph.D. in engineering mechanics from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University in 1998. He is the son of Dr. and Mrs. Lewis Ringer of Poland.
SCOUTS
Mumaw earnsEagle Scout award
Jason Mumaw received his Eagle Scout award at a court of honor ceremony at Poland United Methodist Church this month.
He was a member of Cub Scout 2 of Poland-Den 7, then joined Boy Scout Troop 2 of Poland. He has spent 12 years in scouting. His scoutmaster is Hank Zimmerman.
His troop positions have been scribe, patrol leader, senior patrol leader, and junior assistant scoutmaster. He has been awarded 21 merit badges and the 5th Year Heritage.
Jason's Eagle service project was to build a boardwalk in the Poland Municipal Forest to help walkers keep their feet dry after a rain.
He is the son of Bill and Cathy Mumaw of Poland and attends Poland Seminary High School, where he is a member of its speech team. He has also participated in the art club and four plays with the Poland Players.
