KEEPING SAFE Crime prevention tips

Dan Valentine, a Salem Township constable and Beaver Township police officer, suggests residents and business owners make extra effort to secure property and vehicles. He offers these tips:
Lock doors of residences, businesses, garages and vehicles.
Vary schedules and activities, and leave lights on when not at home or the business is closed.
Keep an inventory of valuable items, including make, model and serial numbers. Photographs or a video recording of property is also helpful to police.
Contact police immediately when out-of-the-ordinary activity occurs.
