YOUNGSTOWN CITY
Other eyesores
Other significant eyesores in Youngstown, according to readers:
*Republic Rubber, Albert Street.
Piles of tires litter the property, a series of hulking, crumbling red brick buildings with pointed roofs. All the windows are broken.
*Old Youngstown Sheet & amp; Tube office, U.S. Route 422.
Last year the city secured a $300,000 state grant and dedicated another $200,000 to tear down the 78-year-old five-story brick building. The project will improve access into and out of the busy, revived industrial area
*Former Flying Tigers, Madison and Ford avenues.
Ivy covers the old bar, visible to those using the adjacent expressway. The entrance is boarded. Tires and the remains of a house foundation sit behind it.
