COLUMBIANA CO.
Program details
Columbiana County officials say a program that fixes vehicles for low-income people is beneficial and growing more popular. Here are some details regarding the effort:
Qualification is based on income, which for a single parent with one child can be no more than $1,935 per month.
Another qualification requires recipients have at least one minor child in the household.
The vehicle being fixed must be titled to the program recipient and used to go to work.
Repairs costs are limited to $1,800 per year for each participant.
Three estimates must be submitted for each repair. County officials authorize the best and least expensive fix.
Payment for repairs goes directly to the business that does the work.
