Pastor recognition
WARREN --Dr. Edgar Fisher Jr., pastor of Friendship Baptist Church, will be recognized for his 11 years of service there Sunday. The Rev. Joseph A. Cameneti Jr. of Believers' Christian Fellowship will speak at the 11 a.m. service. Dr. Fisher has been active in building relationships with white congregations in the Warren area, and is president of the Trumbull County Interdenominational Ministerial Alliance.
At the 4 p.m. service, the guests will be the Rev. Alton Merrill Sr. and members of New Jerusalem Fellowship Church.
Priests to be ordained
YOUNGSTOWN -- Two men will be ordained as priests at 10:30 a.m. May 26 at St. Columba Cathedral by Bishop Thomas J. Tobin of the Catholic Diocese of Youngstown.
The Rev. Joseph Zamary is a native of Youngstown who was ordained to the diaconate in 1977. He's been pastoral minister at Sacred Heart Parish in Youngstown and interned at St. Joseph Parish in Mantua. He will celebrate a Mass of Thanksgiving at 2 p.m. May 27 at St. Columba.
The Rev. Maciej Mankowski, a native of Poland, was ordained a transitional deacon June 10, 2000, by Bishop Tobin. He interned at St. Rose Parish in Girard and Little Flower Parish in North Canton. He will celebrate a Mass of Thanksgiving at 2 p.m. May 27 at Little Flower.
Trial sermon announced
YOUNGSTOWN -- Minister Deborah Sly will give her trial sermon at 4 p.m. May 27 at Lighthouse Ministries Inc. She joined the church in 1997 and takes part in its praise team, pastor's aide and usher board.

Blessing of the bikes
SHARON, Pa. -- Quaker Steak & amp; Lube will have its first blessing for motorcycles and riders at 8 p.m. Wednesday to kick off a safe Memorial Day weekend. The Rev. John R. Boeckman, pastor of St. Adalbert and Holy Trinity Catholic churches in Farrell, Pa., will give the blessing. The father got the idea after reading about similar blessings in other states.
Bicentennial recital
POLAND -- Poland Presbyterian Church will have its second organ recital in observance of its bicentennial in 2002 at 7:30 p.m. Sunday. The recital will feature contest winners from the American Guild of Organists/Youngstown-Mahoning Valley Chapter. Also as part of the bicentennial, the church has created a new Web site. Anniversary Mass
YOUNGSTOWN -- St. Patrick Church will have one liturgy this weekend at 10:30 a.m. Sunday when it celebrates its 90th anniversary. Bishop Thomas J. Tobin of Youngstown's Catholic diocese will be the celebrant. There will be an outdoor procession and music with a reunion choir.
Lutheran Ascension
YOUNGSTOWN -- Victory Lutheran Church will be host to area Lutherans for an Ascension Day service at 11 a.m. Thursday. A luncheon will follow that is sponsored by Lutheran Brotherhood, Youngstown Branch 8553.
First women's day
YOUNGSTOWN -- Christian Bible Baptist Church will have its first women's day celebration with a luncheon and tea at 3:30 p.m. today and at the service at 10:45 a.m. Sunday. The theme is "When Praises Go Up, Showers of Blessings Come Down."

YOUNGSTOWN -- Darlene Waller of Youngstown will be the speaker when Abundant Life Assembly of God has revival services at 7 p.m. Monday through Wednesday. She serves on the church's ministry and leadership teams, and has founded a youth program and a support group for women.
Pastor to speak
GREENVILLE, Pa. -- Pastor Brad Spencer of Healing Springs Church in North Carolina will speak at 10 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. Sunday at Living Word Christian Center. He runs healing and television ministries.
Church offers programs
