Two candidates are seeking the six-year term for the District Justice 3-04 which serves Neshannock, Wilmington, New Wilmington, Volant and Pulaski. An * denotes the incumbent.
JAMES A. REED*
Age: 63.
Home: 505 E. Fairfield Ave., New Castle.
Employment: He has served as district justice since 1989.
Experience: Before being elected district justice, he was the police chief in Neshannock Township and an officer there for 25 years.
Education: High school.
Family: Wife, Emily; children, Barbara, Karen and Scott.
Priority: "To continue to provide integrity and compassion in my position."
SCOTT A. MCGRATH
Age: 40.
Home: RR 3, Box 537, New Wilmington.
Employment: Unit director for crisis intervention at the Human Services Center Inc. in New Castle.
Education: Neshannock High School graduate, 1969; graduated in 1973 from Westminster College with a degree in psychology and received a master's degree in family relations in 1976 from Florida State University.
Family: Wife, Linda; children, Martha and Jonathan.
Experience: Served as school director for Wilmington Area School District from 2000 to present. Completed and passed a certifying class and examination for district justices in Pennsylvania.
Priority: "I would strive to honor the public trust by treating each individual case, each individual before me, with the respect and dignity I would expect to be afforded if I were on the other side of the bench."
