Six candidates are running for the Democratic nomination for three council seats. A Vindicator candidate questionnaire was returned by only one candidate, however. The others running are: 2nd Ward, Mary Paula Tambellini*, 422 Thompson Ave., and James Warrick, 748 Sophia St.; 3rd Ward, Rebecca Payne, 1007 Smithfield St.; 4th Ward, James Buckley*, 1818 Idaho Ave., and Betty Ward, 809 Northside Ave. An * denotes incumbent.

Employment: Media and intervention specialist for Columbiana County Joint Vocational School.
Education: Bachelor's degree in history and secondary education from Ohio Wesleyan University; attended Kent State University for work on master's degree.
Family: Wife, Amy Lyne; daughter.
