Ruling deems teen-agerincompetent for trial
YOUNGSTOWN -- Jackie Colon, the 14-year-old girl accused of stabbing a 3-month-old baby to death in December, has been found to be incompetent to stand trial.
The Roxbury Avenue girl will be placed in a mental health residential facility for one year, said her lawyer, Joseph F. Rafidi.
If, after the year, she is deemed competent, she will stand trial.
The ruling came Monday in Mahoning County Juvenile Court.
Flag display planned
BOARDMAN -- For the second year, the township will display American flags along Market Street and U.S. Route 224 from Memorial Day through Labor Day as a way of honoring veterans.
