BOARDMAN -- Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Fox Funeral Home and at 11:30 a.m. in St. Charles Church for Alwyn R. Lewis Sr., 81, of 7701 Starkey Blvd., Seminole, Fla., formerly of Golfview Drive, Boardman, who died Sunday morning in Largo Medical Center in Largo, Fla.
Mr. Lewis was born April 15, 1919, in Alberta, Canada, a son of Albert R. and Anna Edwards Lewis. He moved to Youngstown as a child and to Florida in 1994.
A graduate of Ohio University, he was an accountant for Burton Supply in Youngstown for 30 years before retiring in 1992.
He was a member of Holy Cross Church in Largo and was a World War II Army veteran, having received the Purple Heart.
Besides his wife, the former Marian E. McNicol, whom he married in 1957, he leaves two sons, A.R. Jr. of Pittsburgh and David of Amherst; a daughter, Cheryl Martinez of Youngstown; seven grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Four brothers, Vantrese, Harold, Theodore and Buster, and a grandchild are deceased.
Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
