TRUMBULL COUNTY Volunteers wanted for litter cleanup



WARREN -- The Geauga-Trumbull Solid Waste District is asking volunteers to help clean up littered areas in Trumbull County during April.
The district will issue thousands of trash bags to residents as part of the Great American Cleanup, a grass-roots beautification, litter prevention and community improvement program led by the national organization Keep America Beautiful. Nationwide kickoff day for the effort was Saturday.
Trumbull County residents can receive trash bags at their local libraries and register to clean up their roads at the Solid Waste District Office at 2931 Youngstown Road.
Participants will gather at central locations, then fan out for the clean up. Places and times of the cleanups and the gathering spots are:
U Girard City Litter Cleanup, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 7, Municipal Justice Center.
U Niles City Litter Cleanup, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 21, Niles McKinley High School.
U McDonald Village Litter Cleanup, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 21, McDonald Fire Station.
U Liberty Township Litter Cleanup, noon to 5 p.m. April 28 and 29, Liberty Township Administration Building.
