Cable task forceto hold meeting
WARREN -- The city's community cable task force will meet at 6:30 p.m. Monday in the caucus room of city council chambers, South Street S.E.
The meeting is open to the public. The task force is made up of representatives of area churches, organizations and businesses. It's sending out a survey to area residents to gauge the community's future cable needs.

Assault charge
WARREN -- A 42-year-old woman is scheduled to appear in court today to face a felonious assault charge.
Ernestine Allen of Tod Avenue Southwest, who was arrested around 11:30 p.m. Friday, is accused of stabbing her boyfriend, Roosevelt Davis, in the upper left chest Friday evening.
Davis was treated at Forum Health Trumbull Memorial Hospital.
Theft at thrift store
WARREN -- Police are investigating the theft of a safe from the Salvation Army Thrift Store, 2680 Younstwon Road S.E.
Reports state the safe was discovered missing around 9:15 a.m. Saturday. The safe contained $50 in cash, reports say.
Police break up party
YOUNGSTOWN -- A big teen-age party attended by Chaney High School students at 540 N. Brockway Ave. broke up Saturday night when police arrived.
Police said they smelled marijuana and found alcoholic beverages.
The homeowner, Juanita Bowell, 40, and seven young men 18 or older face charges of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
Bowell's 17-year-old son told police he was having a small party for his friends but more people came than were invited.
Police took the names of 30 underage teens and confiscated three drug pipes.
2 charged in break-in
YOUNGSTOWN -- Police arrested two men they saw driving away from Tri-County Distributors on Sunday, when the Oak Hill Avenue business was closed.
Officers found 18 bottles of wine in the car and signs of a break-in at the business.
Charles Perry, 45, of Cleveland Avenue and Longino G. Roman Jr., 20, of Kenmore Avenue face charges of breaking and entering.
Perry told police the wine was taken from a trash bin at Tri-County.
A representative for the business told police that the wine would not have been in the trash.
Police also cited Roman for driving without a license and served him with outstanding warrants issued in September for traffic violations.
Trustees to meet
MINERAL RIDGE -- Weathersfield Township trustees will have a caucus session at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the township administration building, 1451 Prospect St. The caucus replaces the April 5 trustees' caucus meeting.
