Stanyards mark 60th jubilee with family

EAST PALESTINE -- Mr. and Mrs. James E. Stanyard III, 1883 Route 165, observed their 60th wedding anniversary March 10 at a family gathering at the home of their daughter and son-in-law, Paula and Jay Patterson of East Palestine.
Mr. Stanyard and the former Jeanne Watts were married March 15, 1941, at Mary S. Brown Methodist Church in Pittsburgh, relocating to this area in 1948. He served with the U.S. Navy during World War II and is retired from Babcock and Wilcox Tubular in Beaver Falls, Pa. He is a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legion Post 31, for which he has served as commander.
His wife belongs to the American Legion Auxiliary and is a 40-year member of the Town and Country Garden Club. She has served as president of both organizations.
The Stanyards are also the parents of James Stanyard and Robert Stanyard, both of East Palestine. Six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren complete their family.
They are members of First United Presbyterian Church and the Duck and Dive Square Dance Club.
