IRWIN M. YANOWITZ, 75 Was 20-year president of Sharon Tube

SHARON, Pa. -- Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in Temple Beth Israel for Irwin M. Yanowitz, 75, of 1244 Yahred Road, retired president of Sharon Tube Co., who died Wednesday evening in his Longboat Key, Fla., home.
Mr. Yanowitz was born Feb. 10, 1926, in New York City, a son of Meyer and Rose Sussman Yanowitz and also maintained the home in Longboat Key.
He worked more than 40 years for Sharon Tube, including 20 as president, retiring July 1, 1991. He was a director and consultant for the company since his retirement.
He was a member of the advisory board at the Shenango Valley Campus of Pennsylvania State University, the Shenango Valley Enterprise Zone Committee, the American Iron and Steel Institute, Sharon Kiwanis Club, Buhl Trustees Advisory Committee, Elks Lodge 103, Mahoning Valley Sales Executive Club and Harvard Business School clubs of Pittsburgh and Cleveland.
He was a past chairman of the Mercer County branch of the Pennsylvania Economy League and the Shenango Valley Industrial Development Corp. He served on the boards of the Mercer County Association for the Retarded, Junior Achievement, Shenango Valley Chamber of Commerce, First Seneca Bank, Sharon General Hospital, and Shenango Valley Charitable Improvement Association.
He is a past president of Temple Beth Israel congregation and was a board member of Youngstown Area Jewish Federation.
He was a 1944 graduate of Sharon High School and a graduate of Western Reserve University. He received a master's degree in 1951 from Harvard University Graduate School of Business Administration.
He leaves his wife of 41 years, the former Sally W. Weiss; three daughters, Carol L. Yanowitz of Chicago, Ruth Y. Bohrer of Denver, and Sarah J. Yanowitz of Boulder, Colo.; a brother, Herbert of San Francisco, and two granddaughters.
A son, Mark, is deceased.
