CLARENCE E. DYE, 81

SHARON, Pa. -- Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home for Clarence E. Dye, 81, of 356 S. Irvine Ave., who died Friday morning in Sharon Regional Health System hospital.
Mr. Dye was born March 25, 1919, in Sandy Lake, Pa., a son of Alfred and Mary Zedaker Dye. He attended Sharon High School.
He worked as an assistant roller in the 60-foot hot mill of Sharon Steel's Farrell Plant 35 years, retiring in 1980. He was a member of Sharon Masonic Lodge 250 and a member of many social organizations.
He served in the Philippines during World War II and was the 8th Army's 142-pound boxing champion during that time.
His first wife, the former Ruth Evelyn Dickson, whom he married in 1946, died in 1968. His second wife, the former Margaret Theresa Colwell, whom he married in 1970, died in 1984.
He leaves his wife, the former Norma Louise Addison, whom he married in 1989; two daughters, Connie L. Bobby of Transfer, Pa., and Bonnie S. Sanata of Hermitage, Pa.; three sons, Arthur and Terry of Hermitage, and Gary of Transfer; 10 grandchildren; and one great-grandson.
His stepfather, Herman Fiest; and four brothers, Timothy, Harry, Donald and William, are deceased.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
