Input requested on Warren cable

Tuesday, March 13, 2001

WARREN -- City residents are being asked for input about the community's cable TV needs.
Members of the Warren Community Cable Task Force soon will begin mailing out surveys to determine future cable needs and discuss current service.
The task force, made up of 12 people representing area businesses, schools, churches and organizations, was to call a press conference today at city hall to announce plans for the survey.
The first wave of surveys will be sent out with city water bills, beginning Wednesday.
The new task force began meeting in February to review the service provided by Time Warner Cable, which has a franchise agreement with the city that expires in 2002.
The task force is working to help renew that agreement.
Public hearings will be scheduled so residents can ask questions and express concerns.
Jan Vaughn, task force secretary, said residents who do not receive surveys can pick up a copy at Warren-Trumbull County Public Library, Mahoning Avenue N.W., or at SCOPE Senior Center, West Market Street.
