SALEM -- Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Roush Funeral Home, Ravenswood, W.Va., for Charlene C. Brown, 79, of 1903 N. Maryland, Plant City, Fla., formerly of Lisbon Road, Salem, who died of complications from a stroke Saturday afternoon in NCS Health Center, Plant City.
Mrs. Brown was born March 9, 1922, in Wood County, W.Va., a daughter of Charles and Elva McGaughy Carmichael. She moved to Plant City in June 1994. She also lived in Coraopolis, Pa., and Greenford, Ohio.
She was a bookkeeper for Allegheny County Medical Society, retiring in 1972. She had been a member of Canfield Presbyterian Church.
Her husband, Elwood E., whom she married Dec. 17, 1940, died Jan. 4, 1994.
She leaves two daughters, Jeanne Watkins of Plant City, with whom she lived, and Roberta Taylor of Pittsburgh; 10 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
A son, Robert S., and a sister, Beulah Faulkner, are deceased.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home in West Virginia. Friends may sign a guest register at Arbaugh-Pearce-Greenisen Funeral Home in Salem from 9 a.m. to noon and 1 to 5 p.m. today and Tuesday. There are no local calling hours.
