TRUMBULL COUNTY Road and bridge work

Trumbull County commissioners have agreed to advertise for bids or execute contracts for nearly $2.6 million in road improvements and bridge work this summer under the direction of the county engineers office.
An estimated $650,400 will be spent to remove and construct a new bridge on York Street that spans Mosquito Creek in Greene Township. Of the total amount, $578,850 from a state Issue 2 grant will be used, in addition to $71,550 in local funds and in-kind services.
Four smaller bridges will be replaced this summer at an estimated cost of $579,725 -- $400,000 from a no-interest, 20-year state loan and $179,725 in local funds and in-kind services. The bridges are along:
U Tait Road, between state Route 45 and Highland Avenue, Lordstown.
U Merwin-Chase Road, between Warner and Albright-McKay roads, Brookfield Township.
U Girdle Road, between Larson West and Countyline-Clark roads, Farmington Township.
U Hyde-Oakfield Road, between Oakfield North and Thompson-Clark roads, Bristol Township.
Nine sections of road will be resurfaced this summer. Of the estimated cost of $1,340,600, a $925,000 Issue 2 grant and $415,600 in local money and in-kind services will be used to fund the work. The roads are:
U Park Avenue, between Housel-Craft Road and state Route 88, Bristol and Mecca townships.
U North River Road, between Elm and North roads, Howland Township.
U Squires Lane, between state Route 46 and Howland-Wilson Road, Howland.
U North River, between Phoenix and Elm roads, Howland.
U Tibbetts Road, between state Route 422 and Shannon Road, Weathersfield and Liberty township and Girard.
U North Road, from North River Road north to end of road, Howland and Bazetta townships.
U Warner Road, between Chestnut-Ridge and state Route 82, Liberty, Hubbard, Vienna and Brookfield townships.
U Olive Street, from McDonald city limits to bridge, Weathersfield Township.
U Niles-Warren River Road, between Niles and Warren city limits.
