SCHOOLS PROJECT Park land



A profile of the five parks or playgrounds that the city school district needs as part of its $163.5 million building plan:
Harding Park: The school district owns the property and leases it to the park board. Harding Elementary School will be leveled and rebuilt. The district is seeking park space behind the school, adjacent to The Rayen School football field.
Taft Playground: The school district owns the property and leases it to the park board. Taft Elementary School will be leveled and rebuilt. The district is seeking playground space behind the school.
Schenley Park: A new school will be built on the site to replace West Elementary on North Hazelwood. The district owns about five acres and is seeking four more acres of adjacent wooded area that the city owns.
Sheridan Playground: The school district owns the property and leases it to the park board. Sheridan Elementary School will be renovated. The district is seeking the playground space next to the parking lot.
Victory Field: A new high school will be built adjacent to East Middle School. The district is seeking land to the fenced area on the north side of Parker Street. The city owns the land.
