CLASS B Goldsteins blanks Astro Falcons, 3-0



Rondinelli out-scored Alltel in the seventh inning for a win.
STRUTHERS -- James Moorhead tossed a two-hit shutout to lead Goldsteins Furniture to a 3-0 victory over Astro Falcons in Class B baseball action Sunday at Cene Park.
Moorhead went all seven innings, with five strikeouts and three walks.
Nick Tucci led the way offensively for Goldsteins by going 2-for-3. He had a two-run single in the third inning.
Chad Wagler took the loss for Astro Falcons. He pitched a complete game, allowing four hits, with seven strikeouts and no walks.
Rondinelli 10, Alltel 9: Rondinelli scored two runs in the top of the seventh inning and held on to defeat Alltel.
Dean Palombaro's RBI triple and Mike Hanck's sacrifice accounted for the game-winning runs. Hanck and Mike Deniro each had three hits for Rondinelli; Deniro added four RBIs.
Hanck, the pitcher, picked up the win. He recorded the complete game, allowing 11 hits, with four strikeouts and four walks. Dan Cashon, who had three hits and four RBIs, took the loss for Alltel, which rallied for three runs in the bottom of the seventh.
WW Heating 7, Roth Brothers 0: Michael Krieger pitched a four-hit shutout to lead Roth Brothers over WW Heating.
Chris Russo had three hits for WW Heating, including a triple, while Ted Russell added two doubles and Krieger one. Jared Bogan also tripled for WW Heating and had three RBIs. Paul Suhar drove in two more.
Justin Crum took the loss.
Youngstown Express 10, Sluggers 1: Steve Burnich's three hits led Youngstown Express' 13-hit attack.
Erin Satterlee, Nick Guerrieri and Doug Hudoba each added two hits for Express. Ryan Vaughn and Guerrieri each doubled, while Satterlee tripled and Mike Turjanica homered.
Satterlee, Turjanica and Guerrieri each drove in two runs for Express.
Pitcher Vasili Pahoulis got the win in relief; Doug Jones took the loss.
Livi Steel 9, Becdir Construction 1: Livi Steel's six-run fifth inning sent Becdir to defeat.
Kyle Moore and Kris Brown each tripled for Livi Steel.
Jason Bertnicki pitched six innings for the victory; Mike Enyeart recorded the save. Charlie Jaminet took the loss.
