YOUNGSTOWN -- A family dinner party was held June 9 at TJ's in the Holiday Inn South, Boardman, in celebration of the 50th wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Vollmer, 2735 Vollmer Drive.
Arrangements for the event were made by their couple's children, Debe Vollmer of Austintown, Karen Vollmer of North Royalton and Dave Vollmer of Sagamore Hills. Four grandchildren complete the family circle.
The home of the bride's parents in Austintown was the setting June 9, 1951, as the former Harriet Berndt and Mr. Vollmer were married. The couple are members of Mahoning United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Vollmer was employed as a bottler at the Pepsi Cola Co. prior to retiring in 1989.
Her husband served with the U.S. Marine Corps and retired in 1987 from the U.S. Postal Service, where he was a technician.
