Game being used to promote movie

Geocaching fever is spreading like an e-mail virus, and now it's reached the mainstream.
Twentieth Century Fox launched a 13-week promotion for its new movie, "Planet of the Apes," on May 25 using the geocaching game to find caches hidden with props from the film.
Every Friday, the movie's Web site, www.planetoftheapes.com, supplies a coordinate for geocachers to participate in PROJECT A.P.E. (Alternative Primate Evolution). The Web site also awards a Garmin eTrex GPS unit each week to a randomly selected winner.
"Planet of the Apes" hits theaters nationwide July 27.
