Women arrested at truck stop face charges

Both women had been ordered to stay away from the truck stop.
AUSTINTOWN -- Two Youngstown women were arrested on trespassing and drug charges near the Rebel 38 truck stop on Seventy-Six Drive.
The first arrest occurred after police responded to a call at 5 p.m. Wednesday that a prostitute was soliciting at the truck stop. An officer investigating the call reportedly recognized a 36-year-old Youngstown woman at the truck stop. She had been arrested at the truck stop in the past and warned to stay away from the area.
The officer arrested the woman on trespassing charges. She was then searched, and the officer found a suspected crack pipe in her pocket.
She was charged with trespassing, a parole violation, possession of drug paraphernalia and obstructing official business.
Second woman: The second arrest occurred when police conducted surveillance at the truck stop late Thursday night. During the surveillance, an officer recognized a 31-year-old Early Road woman walking between trucks.
The Youngstown East Side woman also had been arrested at the truck stop in the past and warned to stay away from the area.
The officer followed the woman when she got into a car with a man and drove away at about 10:30 p.m. Thursday. When the officer pulled the car over, the woman got out and ran away.
She then fell into a nearby creek and attempted to swim away.
An officer caught up with her and ordered her to get out of the creek. Police reports said she gave the arresting officer some trouble before she was handcuffed.
Officers who later searched the woman's purse reportedly found two suspected crack pipes and a glass bottle that contained suspected cocaine residue. The woman was charged with trespassing, resisting arrest and possession of drug paraphernalia.
