Pa. legislator drops lawsuit

NEW CASTLE, Pa. -- State Rep. Chris Sainato of Union Township, D-9th, has dropped a lawsuit against his former opponent and her campaign manager.
Sainato said he was satisfied with answers given by former Republican candidate Jennifer Nicholson and her sister, Rebecca Nicholson, during depositions taken Jan. 22.
Both admitted there was no basis for statements they made on a local radio talk show alleging Sainato was not entitled to monetary reimbursements he received while in office, says a news release from Sainato.
Both admitted in the depositions that he was legally entitled to receive all of the expense reimbursements for which he had applied. Sainato said he believed he was vindicated by their depositions and didn't need to proceed with the lawsuit.
