Man arrested in Grand Slam meal theft



AUSTINTOWN-- A South Raccoon Road man was arrested Wednesday morning when he showed up at the Austintown police station to pay for a meal he had eaten at Denny's earlier that day.
Police reports say the South Raccoon Road man and a Warren man ran out of the Denny's restaurant on Mahoning Avenue around 9 a.m. Wednesday without paying for their meals. The South Raccoon Road man later returned to Denny's with money to pay for his meal.
The staff at Denny's told the man he had to go to the police station to pay his bill. When he arrived at the station, he was arrested and charged with theft.
