Pulaski girl, 16, dies in crash of pickup truck

GUSTAVUS -- A 16-year-old Pulaski Township, Pa., girl was killed early today after the pickup truck she was driving crashed on state Route 11.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol at Southington reported that Brandy W. Crump was traveling south around 12:45 a.m. when she drove off the right side of the road, overcorrected, went into the median and overturned.
Crump and her passenger, Christopher D. Kirby, 15, also of Pulaski Township, were thrown from the vehicle.
The patrol said neither was wearing a seat belt.
Alcohol was not a factor in the crash, officials said.
Both were taken to St. Elizabeth Health Center in Youngstown, where Crump died during surgery.
Kirby is in serious condition with numerous fractures and other injuries, officials said.
Crump was a junior at Wilmington High School, and Kirby is a sophomore.
