Boy faces charges in holdup of market

LOWELLVILLE -- Police Chief William Vance arrested a 16-year-old Poland Township boy less than 10 minutes after a robbery at Ross's Market.
Vance said the boy held up the store at 30 E. Liberty St. with a handgun and got about $116, but told the female clerk he wouldn't hurt her. He was wearing a black ski mask at the time.
Vance caught the boy on the Stavich Bike Trail near Cooper Street.
He said the boy had the money and the loaded gun.
He is in the Mahoning County Juvenile Justice Center, but no court date has been scheduled.
