Farrell High to get acting principal

Tuesday, June 19, 2001

FARRELL, Pa. -- Farrell High School will have an acting principal for the next school year.
The school board, meeting in special session Monday, named Charles Sanitate, dean of students, to that post.
Search committee: The board will form a search committee for a new principal in September, said Superintendent Richard Rubano, noting that Sanitate and one or two other Farrell employees have the certification required and could apply for the job.
Frank Sincek, principal for the past nine years, is retiring July 2.
Rubano said Sanitate served as dean of students for the first time this year and previously handled seventh- and eighth-grade discipline. He had served as a social studies teacher before moving into administrative work, Rubano said.
Sanitate's salary as acting principal will be determined later, Rubano said.
Paving work: In other business, the board voted to hire Landfried Paving Inc. of Greenville to construct a new track and do other paving in and around the football field complex for $63,253 plus $3,100 for pavement striping. Farrell is expected to contribute between $5,000 and $10,000 to the project.
