YOUNGSTOWN -- Mr. and Mrs. Michael Yurco, 911 Compton Lane, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary June 3 by attending a Mass conducted by Monsignor Peter Polando at St. Matthias Church where they received a papal blessing.
Afterward they were honored during a reception at the Lockwood House in Boardman.
Invitations for the festivities were extended by their family, Nancy and Clem Clausen Jr. of Austintown, Mickey and JoAnn Yurco of Canfield, and Ken and Laura Yurco of Poland. There are also nine grandchildren in the family.
The former Mary Sobinovsky and Mr. Yurco were united in marriage June 16, 1951, at St. Matthias Church where they are members.
Mrs. Yurco is a member of the Quilters of St. Matthias and Jednota.
Mr. Yurco retired in 1979 from Youngstown Sheet and Tube/LTV Steel where he was a tester operator. He is a member of Mahoning Valley Knifemakers Club.
