LISBON -- People of all ages are needed for a video that will be shown during Stage Left Players' upcoming production of "Jesus Christ Superstar." The video will be made at 2 p.m. next Sunday at Outreach Center, 234 E. Lincoln Way. Participants should wear weather-appropriate clothing and bring something to sit on, such as a lawn chair or blanket. Those appearing in the video will be asked to stand up and shout as needed. Balloons will be distributed to children, and cast members will provide entertainment.

Theatre camp for kids
LISBON -- Stage Left Players is also taking enrollment in its first Youth Theatre Camp. Sessions will be from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily from July 16 to 20 and again July 23 to 27. It's open to children in grades 1 through 8. Campers will participate in Stage Left's youth production of "The Wizard of Oz" from July 27 to 29. Poetry contest
PITTSBURGH -- Poet Laureate Robert Pinsky will select the winning entry in Pittsburgh Chamber Music Society's "All the World for Love" poetry competition. The opening program of the society's 41st season, at 8 p.m. Oct. 15 in Carnegie Music Hall, will feature music by Takacs Quartet and words by Pinsky. Poets may submit poems in response to that program's music or poetry or on the theme of love in the contemporary world. The winner will receive $1,500 cash. Deadline is Aug. 15. It's all reality, right?
LOS ANGELES -- A judge refused to dismiss a copyright infringement lawsuit against the Fox network, rejecting Fox's contention its "Boot Camp" reality show differs from CBS' "Survivor" because it's not rigged.
Even if the outcome of "Survivor" is found to have been manipulated, CBS still has the right to protect its show from being copied, U.S. District Judge Lourdes Baird said in a ruling released late last week. CBS sued Fox, charging that "Boot Camp" copied "Survivor's" idea of putting contestants in harsh conditions andvoting members out. Fox denies copying the show.
