MIKE BRAUN PETA goes to a new level

First, the animal-rights crowd thought it had us with its ever-popular theme of "a rat is a pig is a dog is a boy," meaning that, in its eyes, all animal life is the same.
The slogan was coined by Ingrid Newkirk, a co-founder of the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals nitwits -- er, group.
Then came PETA's "Got beer?" campaign. The antis really thought they had the hunting crowd with THAT one. Unfortunately, the slogan -- against the consumption of milk and other animal products -- backfired and brought on an onslaught of adverse publicity about promoting the consumption of alcohol.
Now, Ms. Newkirk is trying to gain some reflected "glory" from one of the most heinous crimes in U.S. history.
Gone vegetarian: A press release sent last week tried to say that convicted murderer Timothy McVeigh -- yes, the Oklahoma City bomber -- had had a change of heart in his final days and for all intents and purposes became a vegetarian.
Ms. Newkirk's press release quoted reports from prison inmates made to The London Times.
Now, there's a real reliable source -- prison inmates during an execution.
The PETA release went on to say that the inmates said McVeigh had eschewed meat in his final days and in fact skipped meat in his final meal.
Well, his final meal was simply two pints of mint chocolate ice cream. Nobody knows for sure why he selected that meal. Certainly not Ms. Newkirk.
That PETA would try to gain some reflected glory off a home-grown terrorist is really no surprise to me. Terrorism would certainly not be a stretch for PETA to reach its aims.
It is simply amazing what this group will do and say to try to force its opinions and thoughts on others. I can't wait for the next PETA comment. I could certainly use the laugh.
