Anyone installing heating and cooling devices in Mahoning County, besides residents of Youngstown, Campbell, Beloit and Washingtonville, are subject to the following regulations:
Permits: Must be obtained for new or retrofitted furnaces, fireplaces, air-conditioning units and additions.Fees: Heating permits are at least $25 and may include additional fees for each heating unit or fireplace.Fines: The maximum fine for unlawful construction for residential dwellings is $300; for commercial buildings, $1,000. Anyone failing to submit construction plans could be charged up to $500.
