Sweet Adelines compete in regionals; elect officers

Sweet Adeline Chorus participated in the regional competition involving choruses in Sweet Adeline International, Region 17, held May 12 and 13 in Cleveland. Directed by Karen Boyer, the chorus placed second in Division A (small) chorus and seventh region wide.
The local representative chorus was Spirit of the Valley Chorus.
Recently installed officers for 2001-02 are Libby Bavilacqua, Sharon, Pa., president; Charlotte Roberts, Hermitage, Pa., vice president; Sue Pisegna, Farrell, Pa., secretary; and Joyce Landel, Struthers, treasurer. Board members are Therese Casale, McDonald; Kathi Creed, Girard; Louise Hosick, Sharon, and Beverly Nelson, Hermitage. Installation took place May 21.
The chorus meets at 7:15 p.m. every Monday at Grace Lutheran Church, 111 Hall Ave., Girard. Prospective members are welcome to participate in the four-part harmony, barbershop style.
