SHENANGO Second man dies from tree-trimming accident

The first death itook place Sunday in Masury.
WEST MIDDLESEX, Pa. -- A Shenango Township businessman was killed when he fell approximately 18-20 feet while trimming a tree in his back yard.
Shenango Township Police said Madhu Kochhar, 45, of 55 Lilac Drive, was atop a ladder trimming the tree when a large branch he was cutting fell back toward him, knocking him and his ladder to the ground around 7:30 p.m. Thursday.
Dr. Anthony Elisco, Mercer County deputy coroner, said a member of Kochhar's family called for an ambulance around 7:35 p.m.
Ambulance attendants tried to revive him at the scene and en route to the hospital, but Dr. Elisco said Kochhar was dead by the time he arrived at UPMC Horizon in Farrell. He was pronounced dead at 8:35 p.m. of apparent neck and skull fractures, Dr. Elisco said, who ruled the death accidental.
Police said Kochhar owned the Super 8 Motel and the Sunoco service station on state Route 18 in the township.
Happened before: It was the second tree-trimming fatality in the Shenango Valley this week.
A Hermitage man, Michael W. Murray, 32, of George Street extension, died when he was electrocuted while trimming a tree at the home of a friend on Boyd Drive in Masury Sunday afternoon.
Murray was using a chain saw when he came into contact with a utility line and was electrocuted, causing him to fall about 20 feet to the ground, authorities said.
