Fire captain decidesto retire from job,run for trustee post
LIBERTY -- The most senior township employee is retiring with plans to run for township trustee.
Fire Capt. Roger DiFrangia, who was hired in 1969, served as fire chief from 1993 to 1997. His last day on the job is June 24.
While chief, he got the Belmont Avenue fire station reopened after it was closed because of lack of money and improved emergency service by assigning paramedics/firefighters to the township-operated ambulance service.
DiFrangia plans to run for trustee in November with two seats open.
