WARREN -- Warner Realty, no address listed, has filed an appeal in Trumbull County Common Pleas Court to reverse a decree made by Warren's health department to demolish a vacant home at 658 W. Park Ave.
The case will be heard by Judge W. Wyatt McKay.
The Vindicator profiled the home and its owner, Donald L. Guarnieri, earlier this month.
Neighbors have said the structure is a safety concern and is used as a playhouse by kids and a haven for drug addicts.
The health board says it plans to take similar action on other homes Guarnieri is believed to own.
Facing robbery counts
HUBBARD -- A 36-year-old Youngstown man was charged Wednesday with three counts of aggravated robbery.
Roosevelt Perry of Ohio Avenue is in the Trumbull County Jail under $30,000 bond.
Township police Detective Mike Begeot said Perry is accused of Sunday's holdup of Save-A-Step Food Mart at Jacobs and Hubbard roads and a store customer.
Begeot said a tip led to Perry's arrest. Perry is also being held for a possible parole violation from a conviction on a similar charge.
Architect seeks sitefor new offices
WARREN -- Trumbull County commissioners have hired an architect to scout out three possible locations to consolidate the unemployment and welfare offices.
The $13,000 fee for Phillips/Sekanick Architects of Warren will be paid by the Workforce Investment Act/Temporary Assistance for Needy Families.
The three locations being considered for a one-stop employment and training center, including the Trumbull County Jobs and Family Services office in a campus setting incorporating property owned by the United Methodist Church on North Park Avenue and nearby property owned by the county.
YSU professor to speak
WARREN -- Youngstown State University professor Scott Martin, Ph.D., will speak at the next Mahoning River Consortium meeting scheduled for 1 p.m. Friday in Room 120 at Kent State University Trumbull Campus. Martin will present components for a watershed action plan for the Mahoning River basin.
Summer school classes
WARREN -- The Trumbull Career & amp; Technical Center is registering for summer school classes in American history, government, health, physical education, English 9 and 10, literature, science, Algebra I and II, Math I and II, geometry and ninth-grade proficiency remediation.
Classes begin June 25 and run eight weeks from 8 a.m. until noon Monday through Friday.

Ranked 7th on exam
CHAMPION -- An area student has placed seventh out of 55 students who took the National Payroll Accounting Exam.
Jessica Casterline, a student at Trumbull Career & amp; Technical Center, took the exam at the National Leadership Conference of Business Professionals of America in California.
Hiring 2 positions
HARTFORD -- Township trustees have decided to hire a custodian at $6.50 an hour for 32 hours a month, and a laborer at $9.50 per hour for 16 hours per month.
They will accept applications for the positions until June 30.
Victim's identity sought
WARREN -- Police were still trying today to identify a man they found unconscious in a parking lot off High Street Northeast.
Beaten severely on the head, the man was taken to a local hospital early Wednesday, then by helicopter to a Cleveland hospital.
Police said this morning the victim appears to be a light-skinned black man.
