Investigation continues in bomb scare

YOUNGSTOWN -- U.S. Secret Service officials said an investigation into a bomb scare Monday night at the Glacier Hills Service Plaza is ongoing and they don't know if or when federal charges may be filed against Donald Snyder.
The Ohio Turnpike plaza in Springfield Township was closed and evacuated for a few hours Monday after a limousine driver heard a phone call by his passenger Snyder, 41, of Canal Fulton, that mentioned the word bomb.
The limo was traveling to Washington D.C. and the driver thought Snyder asked to speak with President Bush.
Snyder was found guilty Wednesday by Judge James R. Lanzo in Struthers Municipal Court of inducing panic and criminal damaging and fined $700 plus courts costs, ordered to serve 180 days in Mahoning County jail -- where he is being held -- and one year of reporting probation .
He also must pay to replace the window of an Ohio State Highway Patrol car he kicked out.
