Babe Ruth (ages 14-15)
Youngstown Express 6, I.P.S. 4 -- Grant Sevek and Mike Eliseo combined on the pitching win. Aaron Boris and Jay Davis had doubles. Kevin Draa and Kyle Schofer had two hits each for I.P.S. Joe Ross had two RBIs.
Youngstown Express 13, Sluggers 3 -- Adam Boris and Adam Zakowski led the Express with three hits each. Boris had two singles and a triple, and two RBIs. Aaron Boris, who singled twice, and Mike Delisio, also had two RBIs each. Mike Eliseo and Cliff Panezich hit doubles. John Mang and Andy Todor combined for the pitching win. Dave Piersante, Dan Balog and Luke Srock had hits for Sluggers.
East Side Kiwanis 5, Sluggers 3 -- Rick Banna had a double and three RBIs for Kiwanis, while Matt Guerrieri and John Grist had two hits apiece.
East Side Kiwanis 5, Rondinelli 3 -- Stan Gozur had a double and three RBIs for Kiwanis, while Rick Banna and Matt Yanik combined on a two-hitter. Pat Elias tripled for Rondinelli.
East Side Kiwanis 4, J & amp;W Limo 2 -- Matt Yanik and John Grist had two hits each for Kiwanis.
East Side Kiwanis 12, I.P.S. 1 -- Greg Rohan and Rick Banna had two hits each, and Grist and Yanik combined on a three-hitter.
East Side Kiwanis 16, J & amp;W Limo 10 -- Matt Guerrieri had a double and single for Kiwanis, while Anthony Zembillas and Dan Deluca both doubled. Mike Robowski had two hits for J & amp;W.
Babe Ruth (age 13)
Youngstown Express 8, EMS Plumbing 3 -- Jesse D'Amico went 2-for-3 with a double, while Matt Bable had a pair of singles for Express. Phillip Besoiu and David Patrick combined on a two-hitter.
Pony League (ages 13-14)
Canfield Electric Device 4, Columbiana Post 290 2 -- Jim Ianazone drove in a run with a double. Also with RBIs were Jake Mosure and Luke Stebner. For Columbiana, Pat Sposota drove in a run.
Campbell 10, Springfield New Middletown 0 -- George Schlosser fired a one-hitter, striking out eight batters. Matt Stankich had two doubles. For New Middletown, Tyler Yaeger doubled.
Canfield Electric Device 10, Austintown Quakers 4 -- Nick Maietta's three singles drove in two runs.
Canfield Anthem Blue Cross & amp; Blue Shield 5, Niles Dunnigan Photography 4 -- Joe Fox and Kyle Banna each had two-run homers. Tom Ivany and Chris Ulery each had two hits. For Niles, Pat Fortune tripled and doubled.
Poland Tangier's 13, Boardman Bill's Place 3 -- Dan Buccino's four hits included two doubles and drove in three runs. Luke Blangero's two hits included a double and drove in two runs. Winning pitcher Jack Hay struck out four batters. For Boardman, Dan Hammond's two hits included a double.
Salem UCT 8, Columbiana Post 290 4 -- Keith Viola knocked in two runs. Cody Dillon doubled. For Columbiana, Joe Rupert's two hits included a double.
Canfield Electric Device 10, GF Insulation 7 -- Jake Mosure homered and had another RBI with a sacrifice fly. For GF, Nate Tacsik homered.
Poland Tangier's 15, Niles Hangware Trophies 2 -- Caleb Markusic's three hits included a homer. Dan Buccino's three hits brought home four runs. Winning pitcher Charlie Carchedi gave up four hits and struck out five batters. His two hits included a double. For Niles, Andy Crisp doubled.
Springfield Firemen 7, Struthers Acordia 6 -- Winning pitcher John Houser struck out five batters. Matt Morell had two hits while Jason Mace tripled.
Campbell West & amp; Barker 7, Salem Eljer 6 -- Richard Phillips had two hits for W & amp;B while Salem had two hits from Ben Miller.
Greater Akron Baseball Federation
BB Rooners 5, Ashtabula A's 4 -- With the game tied at 4-4 and two out in the last of the seventh inning, Dave Knechtel hit a homer to end the contest.
BB Rooners 9, Ashtabula A's 5 -- Nolan Reimold hit a three-run homer while Steve Hudson had a single, double and two RBIs.
SOFTBALL
Pony (ages 13-14)
Mill Creek Sandwich Factory 15, Springfield 3 -- Ashley Koval was the winning pitcher. Ashley Siembieda double and tripled while Mary Whelan had two hits. For Springfield, Johnson and Borosky drove in runs.
Canfield Southeastern Equipment 13, Struthers Home Savings 0 -- Ashley Bleggi and Julie Cooper teamed up to toss a one-hitter. Katie Williams and Andrea Kunkle were Canfield's top hitters. Kristi Wilkos had Struthers' hit.
Mill Creek Marlowes Coffee 11, Austintown Hi-Tech Tool and Machine 1 -- Stefanie Grimaldi, Jennifer Gonda and Patti Sandlin led Mill Creek's offense. Jessica Naples was the top hitter for Austintown.
Mill Creek Sandwich Factory 7, Austintown 6 -- Cecilia Fairchild had two hits and Carrie Byers drove in the winning run in the nine-inning game. Teresa Koontz was the winning pitcher. For Austintown, Jill Houder had two hits.
Canfield Southeastern Equipment 25, Canfield St. Regis 2 -- Julie Cooper and Kerrie Haurin combined to pitch a two-hitter. Leading hitters were Franquie Yazbek, Shayna Cole, Ashley Bleggi and Abby Tierney. For St. Regis, Megan Lileas and Brianna Forgac had hits.
Mill Creek Sandwich 7, Struthers American Legion 6 -- Ashley Koval had two hits.
Traveling (ages 11-12)
Beaver County Hornets 7, Valley Sting Green 0 -- The Sting finished runner-up in the Beaver County Pony Tournament and earned a berth in the Pony World Series that will be contested Aug. 5-11 at Raleigh, N.C. Winning pitcher Amy Joy tossed a three-hitter, striking out six. Danielle Burin, Kari Thompson and Allison Burr had the Sting hits. In the tournament, the Sting went 4-1 defeating: Pittsburgh Spirit Black, 13-0 and 6-0; the Hornets, 3-2; Pittsburgh Power, 5-4. Caitlyn Youngs, Kim Calderwood and Markie Pozzuto were the winning pitchers.
