CWV auxiliary receives awards at convention



Volunteers were recognized for their efforts on behalf of hospitalized veterans.
YOUNGSTOWN -- Awards garnered by the John J. Buckley Auxiliary 1292, Catholic War Veterans, at the Department of Ohio CWV Convention May 4-6 at the Radisson Hotel in Cincinnati were distributed at the May 21 auxiliary meeting.
Ann M. Hosa presented the citations and monetary prizes to committee chairmen.
Recipients were Dorothy Schultz for Americanism and Catholic action programs, AnnaMae Bielik for a third vice youth program and for a ritual officer program, Donna Stosich for welfare work, and Hosa for publicity and public relations.
The auxiliary also received a citation for volunteer work at Veterans Administration hospitals and for gifts to veterans. Volunteers were also recognized for work at the Youngstown Outpatient Clinic.
During the convention Jacqueline Alex of Oregon, Ohio, was elected president of the department auxiliary and Thomas Simon of Swanton was elected commander of the department veterans.
During the May meeting Dora Bindas was chosen as Mother of the Year, and Anne M. Zagger led the May crowning.
